John Simpson


Meet John Simpson, our new featured athlete. There’s not a coach here that doesn’t look forward to John showing up in their class! His heart and passion, especially in the midst of adversary, is one that is unmatched.

This is an athlete who will give it everything he’s got, every time! No matter what life throws him. He knows how to leave it all at the door and let the barbell be his therapy. He’s a family man who loves spending time with his kids, wife and also taking care of his ailing mother. He and his family are vital parts of our CrossFit Cabarrus community! Make sure to congratulate John on his new success next time you see him in the box!

How old are you?


What are some of your fitness accomplishments?

Weighed 293 and now 220 pounds. I can now do pull ups and hand stand push-ups.

What are some of your personal records?

  • Deadlift: 465# to 515#
  • Back Squat: 365#
  • Front Squat: #315

What do you like the most about CrossFit Cabarrus?

My favorite thing about CFC is the community and there support in everything we do! Its so awesome that the coaches care and want to help you become a better athlete!

What is your favorite WOD?

My favorite WOD is Diane.

What are some of your future goals?

In the future I want to be able to do double unders and perfect my power clean.

How much have you improved since joining CrossFit Cabarrus?

Most of my progress has been being able to RX most all the WODS.
