I have been training at CFC for 2 ½ years.
What motivated you to do CrossFit with us?
I was bored with the same old workouts I had been doing for 40 years. I wanted something that would challenge me and push me to my limits.
What’s the biggest hurdle you’ve had to tackle?
The biggest hurdle has been trying to keep up with all of the “kids” that I work out with. My brain says I can do it but my joints remind me I am 55!
What are some of the goals you’ve accomplished?
The ultimate goal was being able to do a Muscle-Up. I thought I would never be able to do that move at my age, and when I got it, it was amazing! As happy as I was to get it, the genuine congratulations of everyone at the box meant far more to me. It is a great group of people.
What’s your favorite movement?
Muscle-Up, of course!!
What’s your least favorite movement?
The hateful, unrelenting, harder than it looks, dreaded Burpee.
Any advice for people considering starting CrossFit?
My advice is to come and try it. It is hard but extremely rewarding. The community of people in Crossfit is like no other. Everyone is there to work hard and become as fit as they can. Since everyone works so hard, everyone appreciates you being there and going through the same workout and this develops mutual respect. No one will judge you as everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. Some people say it is a cult. It is not a cult but becomes very addictive! You do not want to miss a workout!!
